Parent
Partnership Service staff are happy to set up the following workshops
for groups of 10 or more.
Working
in Partnership with Parents Training
This
course is aimed at individual schools and is offered as a full
day or 4 twilight sessions. Alternatively schools may wish to
select a combination of one or more sessions. Sessions are practical
and offer the opportunity to review current practice and plan
future developments. The course aims to enable participants to
engage parents/carers as valued equal partners in exploring solutions
to difficulties.
- Session
1 – Working in Partnership: audit current practice,
explore barriers, identify benefits, action planning
- Session
2 – Providing information: review current documentation,
plain language and clear communication guidelines, other sources
of information
- Session
3 – Working Together to Prevent Difficulties: effective
communication, negotiation
- Session
4 – Productive Meetings: Annual Review, formal and informal
meetings, solution focussed framework for handling meetings.
Independent
Parental Supporters (IPS) Training
This
course is based on modules from the National Independent Supporters
Training. Modules include Law and Guidance, Statutory and Reviews.
